Arrive in San Salvador to begin your El Salvador Educational Tour. Meet your local hosts and guides, enjoy your first class with an Anthropological Lesson on Salvadoran History & get acquainted with your trip community over a welcome dinner. It’s time to gain your first insights into El Salvador’s transformation from conflict to one of the safest countries in Latin America.

Airport pickup by Spanish/English guide and transfer to locally owned accommodation.

Lesson 1: History of El Salvador with our Salvadoran Anthropologist walking you through the PEOPLE OF EL SALVADOR, from its indigenous ancestry, Spanish colonization, Asian and African forced labor migrations, and Arab settlements—and how each group defines what it means to be Salvadoran.
Dinner at sunset at our favorite Salvadoran-owned restaurant.
Evening talk: First impressions of El Salvador.

Nahuat is the indigenous language of El Salvador and your Nahuat-speaking professors are some of the last remaining Nahuatblantes. They will share with their first-hand accounts of the massacres they survived and the discrimination they faced along with their various projects forged to preserve their language.
Finish the day enjoying a boat ride on the turquoise waters of Lake Coatepeque.

Lesson 2: Nahuat Language Preservation with our Nahuat elder Tahzin Nicolas.
Explore traditional Nahuat pottery and shop at his store. All items are made by hand the traditional way by his daughter!
Lunch is a traditional Salvadoran meal that’s 100% homemade by our Nahuat hosts.
Spend the rest of the day at Lago de Coatepeque. Ride jet skiis, slide down waterslides or dive off the pier! It’s your time to get some sun.
Dinner tonight is at our favourite local Pupuseria with your choice of 3 types of pupusas and freshly caught Red Snapper.

Head to El Salvador’s iconic Playa El Tunco to learn about the country’s deep connection to the ocean. Explore the History of Surf in El Salvador, its role in cultural identity, and how the waves have become a source of national pride.
Later, El Kevin joins us to show you the work that inspired this tour. The fight against Gang Violence started way before Bukele.

Hit the waves EARLY with expert surf instructors for your History of Surf class and a special surf lesson.
Grab breakfast back at the hotel and prepare for the journey to San Salvador.
Meet El Kevin to learn all the work that has been done by the Salvadoran people and organisations before and since President Nayib Bukele assumed office to fight against Gang Violence.
Explore the largest library in Central America - Biblioteca Nacional de El Salvador. Lunch is served at this stunning location which also boasts a restaurant inside!
Head back to El Tunco for your second lesson today: Cryptocurrency. Meet with a Salvadoran economist to learn why Bitcoin was adopted as a legal tender, the problem it aimed to solve, El Salvador’s roll-out plan, and potential consequences of the new currency.
Dinner tonight is also at El Tunco at another locally owned restaurant.

Breakfast is served at the top of Conchagua before catching the ride back to town.
We visit the site of the Mozote Massacre where we listen to first-hand accounts of the tragic story of this town and its people that the U.S. have spent years trying to cover up.
After an emotional lesson, we visit a locally owned restaurant overlooking the rolling hills where the Salvadoran Civil War took place.
Our final lesson of the trip puts us face to face with a Civil War veteran to learn the history of El Salvador’s violent past mainstream media won’t talk about
It’s been a long day so we head back to El Tunco to relax and enjoy our final moments today with a dinner to wrap the tour.
